Mirchi Thecha

Spicy, Mouth Watering & One of the most famous dishes from the Maharashtrian Cuisine. A Simple yet Delicious Preparation usually made with Green Chillies & Garlic. Sharing 2 Super Simple Recipes of Thechas which can be prepared using very few Ingredients in just a few Minutes. Do Try Them !

1. Green Thecha (Without Onion)

Ingredients :

Green Chillies - 15
Garlic Pods - 10-12 Cloves
Salt - 1 Tsp/As per Taste
Cumin Seeds (Jeera) - 1 Tsp
Oil - 2-3 Tsp

Method :

1. Heat 2 Tsp Oil in a Tawa. Fry the Green Chillies in it for 2-3 Minutes and Switch off the Gas Flame. Add Cumin Seeds, Garlic & Salt. Mix well. 
2. Now Crush it with the help of a Grinding Stone. 
Note : Keep the mixture coarse and do not use mixer to blend the Thecha. 

2. Thecha with Onion 

Ingredients :

Green Chillies - 15
Chopped Onion - 1 Medium Size
Chopped Tomatoes - 1 Medium Size
Garlic - 10 Cloves
Peanuts - 1/4 Cup
Salt - 1 Tsp/As per Taste
Chopped Coriander Leaves - 2 Tsp 

Method

1. Dry Roast some Peanuts. Peel & Crush them to a Coarse Texture. 
2. Heat 1 Tsp Oil in a Tawa. Fry the Green Chillies in it for 2-3 Minutes and take them out on a plate. 
3. Heat 2 Tsp Oil in the same Pan. Add Finely Chopped Onions and saute till they turn slightly brown. Add Chopped Tomatoes and Saute it for a Minute. Switch off the flame and add Garlic, Fried Chilies & Salt. 
4. Now Crush it with the help of a Grinding Stone. Finally add the Crushed Peanuts & Chopped Coriander Leaves. 
Note : Keep the mixture coarse and do not use mixer to blend the Thecha.

Serve the Delicious Thecha with Jowar/Bajra/Rice Flour Bhakri. It can be served as a side dish with Zunka/Pithla Bhakri !
